Rejected petition Politicians pay should be index linked to the average income.

More details

A 1% cap on benefit rises is a 2% real terms drop, affecting the poorest in society the most. At the same time politicians are asking for a 32% pay rise. This seems ludicrously unfair to most people.

If politician’s income was indexed linked with the average income of over 16's in the UK, it would provide them with motivation to increase the income of the poorest.
