Closed Finding a workable and affordable solution for Independent Self Employed Midwives

Independent Self Employed Midwives are asking the Government to re look at EU directive (2011/24/EU) which becomes effective in October 2013 and links a health care professionals registration to Professional Indemnity Insurance. The current solutions put forward, contracting in to NHS, does not take into account private clients and those Midwives who do not want to be employed but remain self employed. Government help is requested in securing workable and affordable commercial insurance to find a way forward.
