Closed petition No more criminal prosecutions for jokes on social media

Closed on

Our collective sense of humour and irony is to be valued. Everyone is entitled to tell jokes, and to make other humorous remarks and jests, on social and other media without the risk of criminal liability. Accordingly, as a matter of public policy, there should not be any further arrests, or criminal prosecutions, of any individual in respect of merely humorous comments on social media once proceedings in the current “TwitterJokeTrial” have been disposed of one way or the other.
