Important:

This petition was submitted during the 2010-2015 parliament

Petition Stop monthly advice about increasing worker's hours.

More details

The proposal (which is primarily addressed at those who work 16 hours or under) would give advice to claimants of the universal credit telling them to ask for more hours and look for additional jobs.

We the undersigned, believe that this message is not only deeply patronising and offensive to a workforce that is trying to work in horrid economic conditions, but also serves to alienate those on benefits as 'scroungers'. A message that is deeply divisive and insidious. We urge the house to scrutinise this proposal carefully, through the use of debate.
