Petition Much harsher sentences for those committing crimes against children

Criminals who abuse children physically or mentally, are violent towards them, or cause the death of a child through direct action/inaction should receive no mercy from the courts, an therefore by extension a society that treasures it's children

Perpetrators of crime against children should be prosecuted and sentenced to the highest level. No other sentence other than the maximum should be considered for those who steal the innocence of defenseless individuals.

I would also like to see tougher conditions for such criminals whilst in custody. It is one thing to keep them out of society but to allow them all but a normal life (albeit under lock and key) is unacceptable.
