We call on the government to ensure that Government Departments, Non-Departmental Public Bodies and other agencies and organisations in which the government has an influence, that when making reference to the condition 'diabetes' in policy, public announcements, the press, media etc., consideration is given to confusion that may be caused by not referencing which variant of diabetes the thrust of the item being issued relates too e.g. obesity and diabetes must reference Type 2 diabetes rather than just diabetes
