Newcastle City Council plan on making 100% cuts to the arts in order to save 90 Million pounds by 2016.

This includes a proposal to remove 100% of funding from many of Newcastle’s best known cultural venues and organisations.

The council plan on cutting in order to save, therefore it is only fair that the arts take a share of this. 100% cuts however will seriously threaten the future of this great City.

The consultation closes on Friday 1 February. If this petition reaches 10,000 the government must consider raising this in parliment. If it reaches 100,000 it must be taken to parliment.
