Closed petition Like for Like renewal of Trident

This petitions calls for the Ministry of Defence to renewal like for like Trident so that Britain can maintain a strong independent nuclear deterrent.

When we now face the worries of Iran, North Korea and countries in the east have nuclear weapons, we need to maintain the strong powerful symbol of British defence so that we can deter foreign nations from attack and present ourselves as one of the most powerful nations in the world.

Whilst other countries have nuclear weapons and some are trying to develop them, we need to keep strong and avoid opening up ourselves to intimidation or threats.
