Closed Re-Open the Coal Mines in the UK

I am a Public Service student, studying a Degee. I was writing an Assignment about 'Macroeconomics' and I was thinking to myself, why don't we just re-open the coal mines within the UK. Therefore, creating jobs and influence trading. It will of course help the economy surely?
