Petition Ability to charge government departments for our wasted time

I, like many people are fed up with receiving threatening letters, based on inaccurate information, from government departments, particularly the HMRC and Dept of Transport.

We then have to spend hours on the phone, writing letters, etc trying to get a faceless department to amend an error - for which there is never an apology.

I therefore propose a bill that allows members of the public to charge government departments for their time, stress and any expenses incurred as a result of these errors.
