Rejected petition Armadale Road Safety Questionnaire

More details

For our Citizenship GCSE we are interested in making Armadale road a safer place for both children and adults to travel along.

Due to the crash that happened back in June of 2005, we are highly concerned about children’s safety whilst travelling to and from school. Therefore by raising awareness of past events we hope to get speed cushions on the road.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

E-petitions are designed to call for central Government to take action on some matter for which it has responsibility. Road safety measures on particular parts of the local road network are the responsibility of the appropriate local authority. You may wish to resubmit your e-petition, so that it asks central Government to urge the local authority to take action.

In addition, you don't say where Armadale Road is. We believe that there are ten of them in Great Britain (although three of these are in Scotland, and since you are taking GCSEs rather than Scottish qualifications, we assume you aren't in Scotland). To encourage people to sign your e-petition, it would probably be helpful if you said where in England you are.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
