Northern United, the last remaining (intact) deep pit and buildings in the Forest of Dean is under threat of demolition and the work will see in the region of 200 acres of woodland destroyed!
The surrounding area is also under threat to make way for residential and industrial builds, as well as offices, a hotel and relocated college.
These buildings could be demolished any day soon to make way for a Spine Road, which will cut through the heart of the Forest of Dean.
The main build area around Steam Mills Lake holds key habitats for many wildlife species. Of these species, five are on the Red List for protection and one is even protected throughout Europe and governed by European Laws not to disturb it or its habitat; yet they are still pushing on with their plans! Help us stop this development!
