Closed petition ZERO state funding or tax privilege for Papal Visit

We want to ensure that no cash, tax privilege or resources are contributed to any future visit by a leader of the catholic church (or any other religious institution)
Where state or local resources are made available, the institution benefiting must pay for the full cost, with no assistance from the public purse.

To deny funds to such a propaganda tour - like that of 2010 - would be in the UK's best interests and set an example other states would inevitably follow, emboldened once again by the UK's spirited determination to do good instead of submit itself to religious propaganda.
The Roman Catholic Church has huge resources of its own. Its income-stream is reinforced by such global tours.

There are far better, wiser, more kindly and productive deeds to be done with the £10s of millions that would be consumed by such a visit. Please do those things instead.
