Closed petition In favour of introducing Unitary Authorities in Lincolnshire

Closed on

We, the undersigned, ask that in view of the LGA forecast of a shortfall of over £19 billion for local authorities by the end of this decade, and the fact that rural counties that have recently introduced unitary authorities have all reported large savings over the last three years (in one case of over £85 million), Her Majesty’s Government commits itself to a comprehensive review of the council structure in two tier area like Lincolnshire, with particular reference to the abolition of both County and District Councils, and the introduction of unitary authorities.
