Closed petition Teachers to be trained in dealing with children who have developmental disabilities.
Closed on
Currently trainee teachers are given very limited training to deal with children on the Ausitic Spectrum, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia , Dyscalclia and other developmental disorders. This lack of knowledge often leads to a delay in intervention to aide in social communication, anxiety, poor academic results and further difficulties later on in school. Teacher training should include information on how to see problems, develope coping mechanisms, including visual learning and reduce anxiety. Many teachers ignore problems until Local Authorities step in and make intervention a priority. Too late in may cases.
