Petition Abolish work for your benefit/workfare

In a previous petition ( http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/29356 ), the government response stated that "We do not have Work for Your Benefit or Workfare schemes in this country."

The new The Jobseeker’s Allowance (Schemes for Assisting Persons to Obtain Employment) Regulations 2013 put out by the government to cover the regulations which had been quashed in the recent High Court case specifically mentions “work for your benefit” schemes in 3(1).(http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/276/regulation/3/made )

Since these regulations cover schemes that already existed at the time of the previous response, it appears that the previous response was in error. I am once again calling on the Government to abolish these types of schemes.
