Closed petition Bring the car driving test inline with those for motorcycles

We wish the government would bring car driving testing up to the high standard of the tests carried out for motorcycles. We wish the following guidelines be adopted

At 17 complete a CBT and drive a car no more than 1.0 litres and a power output of no more than 50 kw on L plates. Once test passed restricted to car of same size or lower for 2 years. Category B1 licence

At 19 complete a CBT and drive a car no more than 1.4 litres and a power output of no more than 70 kw on L plates. Once test passed restricted to car of same size or lower for 2 years. Category B2 licence.

At 21 or older, providing held a B2 license for 2 years drive a car no more than 2.0 litres and a power output between 75kw and 95kw. Category B3 license. Restricted to a car of the same size or lower for 2 years

At 23 direct access B license allowed but test to be taken in a car with a power output between 70kw and 95 kw and CBT completed.
