We, the undersigned, feel it necessary to have a thorough political debate about how best to provide access to housing.

We are currently spending £20 Billion pounds per year on housing benefit, rents are rising and "the market" seeks to maintain high property prices.

We believe that the government must invest in building NEW council homes for rent and shared ownership.

We propose an Housing fund of £25 Billion per year, with no more than 5% being spent on Housing Benefit after a ten year period.
