Closed petition Review of legislation re offensive odour nuisance from rendering plants

1) Review and tighten up legislation re persistent offensive odours escaping from animal by product rendering plants.
2) It should be made illegal for the odours described above to pervade public amenities, rights of way, and private land as well as places of work and private homes.
3) Licensing of animal by product rendering plants should be tightened up so that local councils are obliged to take action based on the testimony of local residents regarding persistent offensive odours.
4) Such licenses should be subject to an annual mandatory review and not be automatically re issued if the conditions of the license have been breached during the year.
