Petition SAY "NO" TO BEDROOM TAX FOR FAMILIES OF AUTISTIC CHILDREN AND OTHER MENTALLY VULNERABLE DISABILITIES
More details
Mentally vulnerable children such Autistic children should not be encapsulated under 'Families with disabled children' as this is not taking into consideration their mental vunerability such as sensory issues/triggers or their needs. Like adaptations made for physical disabilities, these childrens' bedrooms are their adaptation providing them the only one place they can aid their needs. This is not equality it's unhuman and discrimination and they should be Exempt from the list affected. This may also apply to other mental disabilities such a mulitple personality disorder or schizophrenia. This Bedroom Tax has not been well thought through. In some instances not only is an additional bedroom for the well being of the child or person concerned, it's for the safety and well being of the whole family unit.
