Petition Bus ticketing reform
More details
To allow bus travel within a city on any bus operator with a single ticket system.
To therefore avoid situations where somebody cannot board a bus because the ticket that they have brought was with a different operator.
To create a "Network Rail" style bus system where tickets are purchased from the city (but on the bus as usual) and the bus operators bill the city based on the number of recorded tickets used on their busses.
Not to nationalise the busses.
To create better cooperation and integration between the bus operators and the city and greatly improve the quality of bus transport for the people.
To reduce the monopolies of the larger bus companies that can charge higher fares because of their market dominance.
To Increase bus transport usage because of fair pricing and convenient service, therefore reducing car usage and leading to lower carbon emissions, reduced trafic congestion and less road fatalities.
