We, the undersigned, petition the government to seriously reconsider its decision to remove parachute training from the skill set of the Parachute Regiment to save money.

We feel that to remove the capability of this regiment to enter battle by parachute is ill-considered and short sighted.

The Parachute Regiment is second only to the SAS in their capability and battlefield effectiveness and to remove their raison-d’être would have a disastrous effect on both morale and recruiting.
