Closed petition Allow Emergency Volunteers and Retained Fire Fighters to use Emergency Warning Equipment when on call
Closed on
Emergency Volunteers are often pressured to meet time targets when responding, this includes;
RDS Fire Fighters - 4 or 5 minutes to get to the station
Lifeboat Crews
Search and Rescue Crews
and so on.
Within the United States (dependent on the state) volunteers and on call responders are authorised to fit blue emergency warning and audible warning systems to their personal vehicles when on call to allow a swift, safe response to the station.
I feel the Government should allow On Cal emergency service responders to install both Emergency Warning and Audible Warning Devices to their personal vehicle providing the person doing so has under taken advanced driver training and has the appropriate insurance.
Responders who wish to fit emergency warning equipment to their vehicle MUST display some form of proof that the devices are not being abused. By doing so you are reducing unauthorised users from abusing emergency warning devices.
