Following the recently leaked e-mails outlining the Government plan to force schools to carry out background checks of all enrolling students in order to prevent the children of illegal immigrants from attending, it is imperative that such a proposal does not become a reality if we are to avoid the political appropriation of our schools and the undermining of the right to education regardless of background.
