Closed petition Increase Job-Seekers Allowance
Closed on
Job Seekers Allowance is £67.50 for a single person over 25, but the official poverty line for the same person is £124 a week. This means the government is intentionally keeping people below the poverty line, not by a bit, but by almost half. Job Seekers allowance needs to increase to the poverty line of £124 a week for a single person, £214 per week for a couple with no children, £256 per week for lone parents and £348 per week for a couple with two children. All these amounts are the official poverty lines set by the government.
