Rejected petition Ian Duncan Smith to live on basic benefits for 6 months after his appearance on radio saying he could
More details
After IDS saying he could live on £53 a week 'if he had to' I put forward that he should be made to prove his statement. He would have to survive on basic benefits,no use of any savings he has above £200 and all his bills must come to under the £53 (food, utilities, insurance, fuel ect). He will also not be allowed to accept ANY form of hand out from people he knows as many unemployed do not have millionaires as friends. For one month he will have to live in a bedsit which has key/card meters for all fuel
