Rejected petition Save our TV Studios

We, the undersigned, call on the government to stop the planned demolition of BBC television studios TVC4,5,6,7 & 8, by Stanhope at TVC (Television Centre) at London, W12 7RJ on the following grounds:

- Studio 6 is not only HD capable but is the country's first 3D capable studio.

-Studios 4,5,7,& 8 are HD-equipped and are built for purpose.

-Contrary to press reports, BBC Television Centre is not "past its sell by date".This year alone, hit shows filmed there include, Strictly Come Dancing, The Voice, Miranda, 8 out of 10 Cats, Pointless, and Not Going Out.

- Media professionals will confirm these HD studios are amongst the best working studios in the country.

-To lose 5 main studios in London will create genuine problems in housing existing and new programmes.

We urge the government to stop the demolition of these iconic and purpose-built studios and ensure that they are retained as part of the redevelopment plans for the Television Centre site.
