Rejected petition The Serving British Soldier (UK) Act 2014
More details
A new and comprehensive law or set of laws making it illegal and punishable by a term of imprisonment not exceeding 5 years and / or £5000 for each offence for any of the following
1. Refuse to serve or to accommodate or to otherwise treat a serving British soldier, uniformed or otherwise, in the same manner as you would treat any other paying customer, or potential paying customer, whilst that soldier is ‘off duty’ or whilst that soldier is ‘on duty’
2. Physically or verbally abuse or to threaten, assault, harass or otherwise cause undue distress to a serving British soldier, uniformed or otherwise, whilst that soldier is ‘off duty’ or whilst that soldier is ‘on duty’
The aggravating factor in the above is the fact that the person (s) suffering the discrimination, assault or other has suffered it because, or mostly because, he or she has been identified by uniform, or by other factors, as being a serving or ex-member of the UK Armed Forces - Army, Navy or Air force.
