It is now abundantly clear that the current “one size fits all” approach to education is failing the majority of pupils especially those from the lower end of the social spectrum. I would therefore call for the reintroduction of streaming such that those students that are academically inclined are provided with an environment within which they might flourish and those that have equally important (albeit entirely different) skills are freed from a system that discriminates against their lack of academic vigour.
