Petition Referendums to be held on buildings facing demolition that hold a historical or cultural significance to local constituents

More details

Britain’s unique heritage is facing an uncertain future as local councils and government are seeking cost cutting measures, threatening buildings, projects and causes that are not listed or protected in any way, yet are considered of national importance.

Our petition asks that buildings that hold a significant cultural or historical interest to constituents in an electoral district, that are planned for demolition or drastic remodelling or construction are put to a local referendum, allowing residents to decide upon their fate, unless all avenues have been explored which deem the building to not have a sustainable future through private ownership or otherwise.

In addition we ask councils and local government to allow any interested parties private or otherwise in such buildings full access and cooperation enabling the ability to construct a sustainable business plan.
