Petition Oppose introduction of legislation protecting cyclists without reform of responsibilities!
More details
Whilst the desire to use a bicycle as a mode of transport, for whatever reason is completely understandable and acceptable, the proposed introduction of legislation placing the onus on motorists to afford protection to cyclists is completely absurd without placing additional responsibilities on cyclists.
Sign this petition if you think that:
Cyclists should have insurance
Cyclists should have road tax
Cyclists should undertake a recognised test of competency
Cyclists should obey the laws of the road (stopping at red lights, observing other motorists, indicating etc)
Cyclists should be held responsible (both criminally and in a civil court) for their conduct on the roads
Bicycles should have indicators
Cyclists should make themselves easily visible
If you think that they should be forced to comply with the above to ensure the safety of all using the road, please sign!
