The UK over the years has treated Ireland and the people of Ireland in a disgusting manner (e.g. the persecution of Catholics, the reluctance to help stop the Potato Famine, the responsibility of the death of Bobby Sands etc).

The Government needs to apologise to Ireland and its people for the abysmal treatment they received whilst they were a constituent country of the UK.
