Rejected petition Stopping goldfish being given away as fair ground prizes.

Fair grounds have given away Goldfish as booby prizes for generations, however if you asked the general population, "how do you care for a goldfish to give it the 40 year life expectancy you can expect from a healthy fish?", and who knew a goldfish can comfortably reach 18 inches?. How many people would be able to answer that question, and supply a suitable home- either a pond, or a tank of 3ft and 100l plus in capacity, just for one fish, with suitable filtration, and regular water changes and tank/ pond maintenance? I'd bet not many.
We need to stop this barbaric practice from happening, and the legislation changing, banning the practice of giving away fish as prizes.
