Petition Get rid of the hazard perception part in the theory test
More details
The hazard perception test does not realistically measure the candidates skill in scanning and
hazard perception
• Encourages reactive behavior which is in direct contrast to the aims of
the exercise to encourage better scanning and anticipation, and;
• More important and worrying than all, scores awarded in this test do
not, in any way, help separate ‘safe drivers’ from those who could turn
out to be unsafe drivers.
The government should have this scrapped. Keep the question part, but not the hazard perception test. If you fail the hazard perception but pass the questions you must do it all again which is not fair. The screen is poor quality and its basically just luck if you pass it.
