For too long have Britons been dictated to by Best Before and Use By dates on the food we buy in supermarkets. It is now time that we start to use our own common sense and refuse to be treated as imbeciles. When I buy my fruit and vegetables from the farmers market I am not not subject to the patronising date stamped on my potato or carrot.

Keep it for Fish, Eggs and Meat if you will for those who cannot count the days they bought the item, but please remove the dates from everything else.
