We want the government to raise the time limit for complaints against the police.

The time limit to complain to the IPCC is currently 12 months, after this time the police can ask for a dispensation and do not have to carry out an investigation.

Crimes committed 20 years ago are investigated by police so when the police make a serious mistake it should be investigated too no matter how much time has passed.

We urge the government to abolish this 12 month time period in the interests of justice for innocent civilians who have suffered at the hands of the police no matter how long ago the incident happened.
