There are many 000’s of small businesses that use less energy than the average household but as they are classified as a business they can pay up to 80% more for their energy supply.

This petition calls for the following changes to the legislation that controls business energy
• To cease automatic contract renewals for all businesses energy contracts
• To re redefine the business classification criteria whereby small businesses who have a similar energy consumption to domestic consumers are de classified as business consumers
• To allow for a cooling off period providing the right for businesses to change their minds
• Introduce three month notice periods for contract cancellations allowing business consumers to switch providers
