Closed petition Save our science museums in the North of England

Closed on

We, the undersigned, call on the government to stop the proposed closure of the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester, The National Railway Museum in York and the Media Museum in Bradford on the following grounds:

The North of England has played a proud part in the history of the United Kingdom and was the birth place of the Industrial Revolution.

The movement of museums, centralising them in London, will deny generations of people in the North of England access to their history and cultural identity.

We urge the government to stop the proposed closures of museums in the North of England for the benefit of the whole of the country.
