Scrap Working Tax Credit, raise Minimum Wage and Income Tax threshold to compensate.

The current system is unnessesarily complicated, first you pay tax and NI from your wages then get WTC paid back to you. Why not just raise Minimum Wage and the tax threshold so that the average person on NMW takes home the same pay as when they get NMW + WTC?

The added advantage is that the tax officers can concentrate on catching tax dodgers.
