Closed petition Restrict the sale of Leopard Geckos to a minimum of 15g
Closed on
Newborn/hatchling leopard geckos under the weight of 15g do not yet have the sufficient nutrional or fat reserves necessary for transition to a new home'
without such reserves many stress related ailments can and often do take a massive toll on the health and wellbeing of these hatchlings
We as a hobbyist community across the United Kingdom call for a review on the policies surrounding the sales of Leopard Geckos on the basis that so many suffer when passed on to new owners at such a very early age.
Many of us witness such acts where young babies are sold through auction/classifieds sites where the breeder shows no duty of care nor shows concern with the animals welfare in being fit or purpose.
Leopard Geckos that are above the weight of 15g are approximately 6+ weeks in age and can fully demonstrate their abilities to cope with such changes.
