Petition Car Wash Sites Regulation
More details
Responsible department: Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
Project looking at the amount of Hand Car wash sites springing up all over the place.
It is time to regulate and ensure the businesses are legally covered and follow planning regulations and laws and have adequate liability and commercial insurance to operate and cover any accidents environmentally and/or personal.
Local Authorities, Council, Environment Agency, Water Authorities all need to ensure that the pre-setup (planning regulations and permission is sort) and meeting planning regulations/applications is met on an annual basis.
Chemicals should be stored in bunged walls or containers to prevent leakage into water courses and all effluent discharge must be directed into foul sewers.
To date no one checks these outlets annually or at any time to ensure they meet planning and environmental laws and regulations.
