Petition Creation of a Yorkshire Assembly.
More details
Yorkshire as a whole is the biggest region in the UK, with a population of more than 5million people. Yorkshire is also one of the poorest areas in the European Union due to industrialization which mainly came in the 1980's, when the pits and other local industries failed. Yorkshire receives aid from the EU which the current coalition spends on other areas of the country,
Nowadays the North-South divide in the UK is getting bigger and a growing population in Yorkshire puts on pressure that the HoC is just not keeping up with, a Yorkshire assembly would see improvements for everybody in the region, such as business, education, and tourism.
