Rejected petition GIVE FATHERS RIGHTS DURING PREGNANCY

Where a pregnancy occurs resultant of consensual sex with a female of age the following should apply;-
1.It should be the responsibility of the mother to notify the father without delay.
2.It shall be illegal for the mother to have an abortion or arrange adoption without the fathers written consent, unless in the case of a life threatening situation to the mother or unborn child.
Currently, the father is responsible for maintenance whether the child is born in or out of wedlock. There are many single parent fathers. However, resultant of moral decay over the years, where in the past it would be expected that the father offer marriage when the woman became pregnant, the period during pregnancy has yet to be covered in law. The father should be given the right of choice in any pregnancy along with the mother.
