While Iain Duncan Smith's proposals to limit benefits to average income were a step in the right direction, they do not go far enough.
Claimants should not get more than a person working an average week on minimum wage. To do so negates the incentive for them to get a job.
Working taxpayers should never be financially worse off than people claiming benefits.
