My house is up for sale and empty.Since April 2013 local councils have been able to set the length of council tax exemption on unoccupied and unfurnished properties.Mine was three months which is now up.How can my council tax be the same as my neighbours who have a family of four compared to an empty property.
The Government want to fill empty properties to help with the housing shortage.Well could you please give house sellers who have left their property vacant, who need to sell for financial reasons a chance of putting their house on the market without adding to the financial burden
