Increase the National Minimum Wage for all people over 18 to £7 per hour.

This will do far more to encourage struggling people into work than cutting benefits, and make a huge difference to the quality of life of the poorest people in the UK.

To reduce the financial shock to business, ramp the amount up in increments over the next 24 months.
