Rejected petition For Local education Authority to keep our children safe!
More details
Sadly, too often individuals not competent in the area of door safety, with little knowledge of the products available, are used to carry out risk assessments.Admin staff, caretakers, head teachers, site managers and non-specialist Health and Safety Advisors are examples of people that carry out risk assessments. Failure to identify risks and leaving children and others exposed to severe injuries.
Any injury therefore occurring is by definition not excusable as accidental and without excuse an injury caused is negligence. The adult responsible may well be questioned by their child victim as to why they had failed in their duty of care.
The most common and serious injury that occurs in schools nurseries and public buildings is fingers shut in doors that can lead to amputation and severed fingers.
The Children’s Charter (CSA) Door Safety Standard.
The standard will insure schools in your county meet its duty of care.
