Closed petition Confidential enquiry into the deaths of doctors subject to fitness to practice investigations by the General Medical Council
Closed on
If a person died in police custody unexpectedly, there could be public outcry, and investigations into what happened and why.
In comparison, we know of about hundred deaths of medical doctors subject to fitness to practice investigations by the General Medical Council. This is excessive, mostly not investigated and public interest is in knowing what went wrong.
We are asking the government to order a confidential enquiry into those deaths.
European Convention on Human Rights, Aritcle 2 would be satisfied by prompt and effective investigation.
