Rejected petition Britain and nuclear weapons.
More details
We the undersigned citizens of Great Britain wish it to be known that there are no circumstances in which we would approve the use by our country of nuclear weapons against any people anywhere in the world.
We ask our government to end Britain’s nuclear capability.
The theory is that Britain’s nuclear weapons would be used only if we ourselves were under nuclear attack, effectively as a final act of revenge, of hatred, before being annihilated. This is not who we are. The sound political and financial reasons for putting these weapons aside are secondary to the need for us to become a more thoughtful, caring and enlightened society and to show that face to the rest of the world.
