Rejected petition Do Not Disband The 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers
More details
The 2nd Fusiliers are the best recruited and one of the most experienced Battalions in the British Army.
We recruit from four of the best recruiting areas in the country.
They were not selected for disbandment in the original defence review.
They have been selected in order to save less well recruited Battalions for political reasons only.
Parliament has already voted that this unit should be saved.
The government are disbanding regular units before the TA have filled the capability gap which is a high risk defence strategy.
The Territorial Army is failing to recruit the numbers required to fill this gap for Army 2020.
We wish the government to reconsider this policy which defies military logic and save 2RRF.
